Dispatcher - Fuel Delivery

Core Responsibilities

Utilizing “State of the art” dispatching systems - efficiently schedule drivers and third party haulers daily ensuring on-time delivery of product to various delivery points. Sets driver daily work in an efficient and professional manner to include fair route assignments while achieving maximum efficiency and cost savings for our customers. Manages complex routine including rescheduling, and handles any and all delivery issues and promptly communicates the concerns with the customer service team for follow up.

Delivery and Inventory Management

  • Plan deliveries 24/48 hours in advance
  • Assimilate information from a variety of sources and prioritize needs
  • Identify what was sold and anticipate customer fuel needs
  • Determine who needs loads, identifying most critical/least critical
  • Assess market impact on loads Interact with CSR about orders and design load strategies if needed
  • Schedule timely deliveries to eliminate possible run outs

Dispatching

  • Meet delivery windows on all loads
  • Assign loads to best manage costs
  • Coordinate with drivers and haulers to achieve delivery goals
  • Develop strategies to minimize empty miles traveled Identify creative ways to help increase profitability of loads within the boundaries of safety and DOT standards

Job Requirements

  • Able to work a fixed schedule - 5 days
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Dispatch experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong communication and customer service skills necessary
  • Prior fuel industry experience a plus
  • Must be able to make effective decisions
  • Position requires availability for “on-call” rotation

Full-time employees must work at least thirty-two (32) hours, but are to be regularly scheduled for no more than forty (40) hours per week. All hours worked in excess of forty hours per week will be paid overtime at one and one-half times the straight hourly rate. New employees will be on a ninety (90) day introductory period, after which their performance and continued employment will be evaluated.
